Lightning, Thunder, and Tears

The day started off with rain pouring down, thunder rolling, and lighting flashing. It was pretty disappointing because we were planning on spending the whole day outside with our Compassion kids*, but the Lord still worked it out. We spent most of the day inside talking with our kids, doing a craft, playing games, and eating lunch. At about two o'clock, the sun came out, and the skies completely cleared. Then we were finally able to play outside with our kids. We did a lot of fun things with them, including soccer, volleyball, jump rope, frisbee, whiffle ball, and painting faces. We had an amazing day with our sponsored children. You could see the joy on each child's face. It blessed us so much to be able to bless those kids. We were also able to hand them the gifts that we brought for them from home, and it was amazing to see how excited they got about every little thing. Yes, there were some tears when it was time for us to leave, but, over all, it was another great day in Uganda! Thanks again for all the prayers.

*The sponsored children that we saw today were only the children that are sponsored by the people on the team, and we had a total of 22 kids.

Dear Geoff, We are so proud of you and the whole team, and very glad you will be headed home to your wife and babies soon. They have really missed their 'dada'. We have read of all that God has done through you and are in awe of His goodness and His graciousness in using flawed human beings to accomplish His purposes.

You are in our prayers every time we pray and we are trusting that
God is changing you (as well as the whole team) into His image. We look forward to seeing you all very soon. Love you lots, Janet and Nick

The mission seems to be going so great! The day with your sponsored children are some of the most inspiring pictures; to see the smiling faces of all the children! Keep up the great work! I can't wait to hear my mama's (Lisa Hughes) voice again, and all the wonderful stories! So very proud of all of you! Enjoy the rest of your time!

Love, Jenn

We have been getting strange weather here too. It was raining and hailing and then lots of sunshine all in the same day....it is great to hear that you were able to spend some quality time with the children through compassions. I know that your children were all so happy to see each of you and were greatly blessed by the Lord. You can see that you all had a great time because in most of the pics you look like a bunch of goof-balls....love it.
